🌱 Faith in the Fog: Finding Light in Spiritual Uncertainty
There are seasons in life when our faith feels steady — a solid ground beneath our feet. And then there are seasons when the ground shifts, and the beliefs that once felt certain now feel like mist in our hands.
Loss, illness, caregiving, and grief have a way of stirring deep spiritual questions:
Why is this happening?
Where is God in this?
Do I still believe what I once did?
If you’ve found yourself in this fog, you are not alone. Spiritual uncertainty is not a sign of weakness — it’s often a sign of growth. It means you are wrestling with truth, seeking deeper meaning, and refusing to settle for easy answers.
In the fog, the light may feel dim, but it’s still there. You might find it in:
A moment of unexpected kindness from a stranger.
A verse, poem, or song that feels like it was written just for you.
A walk outside where the sun warms your face, even for a moment.
The steady presence of someone who loves you without trying to “fix” you.
Faith doesn’t always look like certainty. Sometimes it looks like holding on to even the smallest glimmer of hope when everything else feels unclear.
If you are questioning right now, give yourself grace. Your journey with the divine — whatever name you call it — is allowed to change shape. You don’t have to have it all figured out to keep moving forward.
In time, the fog will lift enough for you to see the next step. And when it does, you may find that your faith — though different — is deeper, gentler, and more real than it was before.
Until then, keep walking. Keep breathing. Keep looking for the light.
